About

Hi, Welcome to Make Kitchen Safe

Kitchen MKS

I’m a mum, a home cook and someone who probably asks far too many questions.

Like most parents, I thought I was making healthy choices for my family.

I read food labels, bought more fruit and vegetables, cooked most of our meals at home, and tried to avoid highly processed food whenever I could.

I honestly thought I had it covered.

Then one day, a simple question popped into my head.

What about the cookware?

I was so focused on what we were eating that I’d never stopped to think about what our food was being cooked in.

That question sent me down a rabbit hole I never expected.

I Quickly Realised It Wasn’t Simple

The more I looked, the more confused I became.

Every brand seemed to have a different claim.

PFAS-free.

PFOA-free.

PTFE-free.

Non-toxic.

Healthy.

Eco-friendly.

It all sounded reassuring… until I realised those labels didn’t always tell the whole story.

I spent weeks reading articles, looking at scientific studies, comparing materials, checking what manufacturers actually disclosed, and trying to understand what all these terms really meant.

Some days I thought I’d finally figured it out.

Then I’d read something else that raised another question.

Eventually, one thing became very clear.

More expensive doesn’t automatically mean safer.

And as a busy parent, I found that incredibly frustrating.

Most of us don’t have the time to spend hours researching every frying pan, lunch box, air fryer or food container we buy.

We just want to know what’s worth buying and what isn’t.

That’s Why I Started Make Kitchen Safe

I created this website to share everything I wish I’d known when I started.

You’ll find straightforward guides that explain the confusing stuff in plain English, along with product recommendations based on the research I’ve done.

I’m not here to scare you or tell you that you need to throw out your whole kitchen.

I’m here to help you make informed choices, one product at a time.

What You’ll Find Here

At Make Kitchen Safe, you’ll find help with:

  • Choosing safer pots and pans
  • Understanding terms like PFAS, PTFE, PFOA and BPA
  • Finding kitchen appliances made with safer materials
  • Comparing products before spending your money
  • Sorting genuine information from clever marketing

My goal is simple: to save you the hours of research I went through myself.

My Promise

If I recommend something, it’s because it’s a product I either use myself or would genuinely feel comfortable using in my own kitchen.

That doesn’t mean it’s perfect because no product is.

The brands and products I feature aren’t the only good options available.

My goal isn’t to tell you what to buy. It’s to help you understand what to look for, so you can choose what best suits your cooking style, budget and family.

I want Make Kitchen Safe to become the place you visit whenever you’re wondering,

“Is this actually a good choice for my kitchen?”

Because looking after your family’s health isn’t just about what’s on the plate. It’s also about what touches your food before it gets there.

Thanks so much for being here.

I hope Make Kitchen Safe makes your next kitchen purchase a little less confusing and gives you the confidence to make informed choices for your family.
